TRUMP TAPS SENATE STAFFER FOR ASSISTANT DOT SECRETARY
StartFragment
The Trump administration has tapped Washington insider Adam Sullivan to manage the Transportation Department’s relationship with Congress.
Sullivan, a Senate labor, HHS & education appropriations subcommittee staffer, will serve as assistant secretary of transportation and government affairs in the run-up to the president’s still vague $1 trillion infrastructure proposal.
This is Sullivan’s second political appointee role under DOT Secretary Elaine Chao. He previously worked in a congressional relations capacity when Chao led the Labor Department under President George W. Bush.
Sullivan was also chief of staff for former Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) from 2011 to 2015 and lobbied for defense technology firm, Harris Corp., from 2006 to 2011.
